A New Year!

Happy New Year!

2012 will be the year of the Apocalypsies. I can’t tell you how excited I am about all of their books. And of course about my own book, The Other Life. In only 24 days it’ll hit the shelves in the UK. I can’t tell you how excited that makes me.

Anyway.

I wanted to use this post to write down a few resolutions for this year.

-         write two books

-         read a minimum of 80 books and at least half of them Apocalypsies books. (The books from established authors I’m most looking forward to are: Insurgent by Veronica Roth, Daughter of Bone and Smoke 2 by Laini Taylor, Body and Soul by Stacey Kade, Spellbound by Rachel Hawkins, Timeless by Gail Carriger)

-         eat less meat (only once a week)

-         work out on my elliptical every day. The last few days I managed to do this and it makes me feel so much better!

-         Have more patience (not sure how well this will work out but I’ll try my best...)

Btw, I’m one of the new members of The League of Extraordinary Writers. Here’s my intro post.

Do you have resolutions for 2012?

Christmas + giveaway!

So I'm taking a short break from baking - Florentines, haystacks (peanuts + pretzels covered with white chocolate), muesli-cookies, double chocolate cookies, peanutbutter fudge...
Umm...
Next up: wrapping presents (hate that) and a few other things from my to-do list. Eeek.
But first I want to wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

That's exactly how I feel...

BUT because I'm supposed to feel all christmas-y, I'm giving away a signed ARC of THE OTHER LIFE on goodreads!

US cover reveal!

Maybe you noticed it already but my US cover is up on amazon! It's totally different from my UK cover, isn't it? But I love them both. Isn't the red font amazingly creepy?
Don't forget: Pub date in the US is May 1st, 2012!

If you don't want to wait that long, you have the chance to win a UK ARC on Samantha's blog! The giveaway is open for US/Canada and Europe/UK!

Giveaway + photos!

My awesome UK publisher Usborne is giving away 3 proof copies of THE OTHER LIFE on goodreads! The giveaway is open until November 30th. You have to live in Great Britain to enter.

NaNo started yesterday and I'm participating this year. The book I'm working on was inspired by a few places I visited with my husband in the last few weeks.
Here are a few pics:

Watercastle Anholt. It's only about an hour from where we live.

The following photos show Castle Rheinfels. It towers over the rhine across from the famous Loreley.

The autumn weather has been fabulous in Germany so far. That isn't something that happens very often around here!
